Absolutely Mad For Midis

My newest love is the midi skirt.  It has a vintage look that I absolutely adore.

The midi skirt is the in-between skirt.  It’s in between the above the knee skirt and the maxi skirt.  The hem generally falls anywhere from just below the knee to mid-calf.  If you are short (like me), the thought of a skirt falling mid-calf could be a nightmare.  However, the lines of the skirt will cinch your waist and elongate your legs.   Also, some stores offer petite sizes.  Regardless of your height, the midi skirt is a perfect addition to your Spring wardrobe.

Hi Angela, I am five feet tall and a half an inch. So I am pretty short. I think the last skirt featured in the post is a nice length for a person who is shorter. I also think the shoe selection is really important.

Hi Elizabeth, I typically wear high heels with my midi. However, your question prompted me to try out some different options. I tried a 4 inch and a 3 inch heel. Both worked well. Then I tried with a wedge thinking it would work because of the heel height. The wedge did not look good at all. The bulky heel of the wedge just made everything look a little off. I also tried a pair of black patent flats. Surprisingly, they worked just fine. So in the end, I think you could go with a heel or a flat. I am just partial to heels. Being so short, I wear them a lot. I hope this helps.
